Valentine Ozigbo, a Labour Party chieftain, has warned the presidential candidates of the APC, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP party to ‘be ready to accept defeat’ and reconcile themselves to endorsing Peter Obi in the presidential race.
In a statement released on Tuesday January 24, 2023, Ozigbo stated that opponents were trying to “derail the massive momentum of Obidients across Nigeria and worldwide” via engaging in deceptive tactics instead of concentrating on a “fair and open contest”.

He urged Atiku and Tinubu not to join issues with him following “the current brickbats between over allegations and counter allegations of corruption” as the Labor Party will remain committed to Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State.
He suggested that “In a civilized setting, the wise thing for Atiku and Tinubu to do would have been to allow Peter Obi to go unopposed by honourably stepping down.
“But if they insist on continuing, they should be ready to accept their fate at the polls”,
Ozigbo referred to their ‘unprofessional conduct’ as an indication of fear of fair competition and lack of confidence in their own candidate’s abilities.
