The success of the Smith twins, Tia and Tyra, has been nothing short of remarkable having emerged as the joint best-graduating students from Lindblom Math and Science Academy, Chicago. Their academic accomplishments have earned them high school valedictorian honours as both sisters attained a perfect cumulative grade point of 4.0.

During their tenure in high school, Tia and Tyra’s academic flair shone brightly with the support of their mother, Lemi-Ola Erinkitola, and father Terry Smith Sr.. Tyra’s enthusiasm for biotechnology and problem-based learning math was contagious, while Tia excelled in human geography and U.S. history. Their voracious appetite for learning was matched only by their devotion to extracurricular activities, such as their school’s gallery club. They curated art from their peers to display at various events and initiated their school’s inaugural black history art gallery, called “More Than 28”.

Decidedly forward-thinking, the Smith twins have collaborated on various projects with Baxter International Disease to increase awareness about kidney disease in their community. Their joint efforts culminated in a community awareness campaign on kidney disease that they presented at the STEM Challenge Showcase in Illinois.

Additionally, the now 22 years old Tia and Tyra embraced the entertainment industry, lending their creative writing skills to pen a special episode of the sitcom “Black-ish”. Their writing was a testament to their artistic talents and their culturally diverse backgrounds.

Overall, Tia and Tyra’s achievements during high school reflect their relentless pursuit of academic excellence and their commitment to community engagement. Their future is undoubtedly beyond promising with both siblings receiving full scholarships to different reputable universities in the United States.
