In a stunning display of resilience and determination, Brazilian gymnast Flavia Saraiva competed in the women’s team gymnastics final at the Paris Olympics with a bloody eyebrow while earning Brazil’s first-ever gymnastics medal.

Saraiva sustained the injury during warm-ups on the uneven bars but refused to let it stop her from competing.

Her impressive routine earned her a strong score of 13.666, securing Brazil’s first-ever gymnastics medal. Meanwhile, Team USA’s Simone Biles also battled through an injury, wearing tape around her left shin and calf.

With the USA women’s team heavily favoured to win the gold, it’s clear that these gymnasts will stop at nothing to bring home the medals.
