Samuel Moses Elba, the founder of Spark Light Energy Limited, has made a significant impact in the world of clean energy and electricity generation. His story is both inspiring and captivating, as he was able to overcome the challenge of not having electricity in his home by creating an innovative and environmentally friendly solution that would revolutionize the world.
It all started when Samuel failed his school exam due to a lack of electricity in his house. Determined not to let this obstacle stop him, he began to experiment with different methods of generating electricity. After much trial and error, Samuel invented an electronic hand-cranked powered generator that could provide 24 hours of electricity without using any battery, fossil fuels, or harmful chemicals unlike Kerosene lantern for instance which can be harmful to the health.
Despite the remarkable potential of his invention, the young talent from Sierra Leone faced a number of challenges in securing funding to bring his idea to fruition. In fact, it wasn’t until he won the United Nations Development Social Good Summit Innovation Award that he was able to secure his first seed funding. This award was a significant turning point for Samuel and his company, as it provided the resources needed to expand into several rural communities in Africa, benefiting low-income earners who had previously had little access to affordable electricity.
Spark Light Energy Limited has become a pioneering force in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation. The company’s mission is to provide clean, affordable, and environmentally friendly sources of electricity to anyone who needs it. The benefits of this mission are manifold, and extend to everything from health and safety to economic development and social mobility.
