Prince Odianosen Okojie, the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, has emerged victorious in the recently concluded election to represent the Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives. He defeated his rivals from the PDP and Labour Party with a healthy margin. Let’s take a closer look at how he got it done.

The Election results were announced by Dr Victor Imade, on Sunday which confirmed that Prince Okojie polled a total of 21,764 votes as against 10,007 votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and 11,528 votes recorded by the Labour Party candidate.

Social media played an important role in this victory, as Okojie had been actively engaging with his constituents on various platforms such as Twitter and Instagram since announcing his candidacy last year. This enabled him to reach out to people far beyond his constituency and create awareness about his campaign. It also gave him access to feedback which he used to refine his message and make sure it resonated with voters.

Mercy Johnson was one of her husband’s biggest supporters throughout his campaign process and was often seen posting pictures and videos on her social media accounts encouraging people to vote for him. At times she took part in some campaign activities such as the distribution of flyers. Her support helped bring more attention to her husband’s campaign which ultimately resulted in his victory.

Prince Odianosen Okojie is now officially a member of the House of Representatives representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency in Edo State! He managed to overcome stiff competition from other candidates including those from major political parties like PDP and Labour Party.
