Lewis Hamilton, who holds the record for most Formula One wins, is set to make his acting debut in a Hollywood blockbuster called “Apex”. The film, co-produced by Hamilton and directed by Joseph Kosinski, will star Brad Pitt as a seasoned Formula 1 driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a young driver played by Damson Idris. Hamilton will also have a minor role in the film and is committed to ensuring its authenticity, given his expertise in the racing world. The film is expected to cost over $300 million and is predicted to rank among the top 12 most expensive films ever made.

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Hamilton emphasised the importance of authenticity in the film’s production, stating that he had been advising the filmmakers on what would appeal to fans and what would not. He also stressed the importance of appealing to both the older generation of F1 fans and the new generation who have discovered the sport through platforms like Netflix.

Pitt, in an interview with Sky Sports, explained that his character would be a driver who raced in the 90s and subsequently disappeared after a terrible crash. He then returns to the sport to mentor a young driver for a struggling team. Pitt also highlighted the innovative camera work in the film, with shots from cameras mounted all over the car to capture the speed and G-forces of F1 racing.

Overall, Hamilton’s foray into acting with such a high-profile project highlights his versatility as a personality and his ability to expand his horizons beyond the world of motorsports. While the film’s authenticity and appeal to F1 fans will be critical to its success, the involvement of A-list actors like Brad Pitt and the film’s massive budget make it one of the most highly anticipated upcoming films.
