All around the world, people are inspired by stories of young minds achieving great things and making history. This is especially true in Africa, where so many people still have limited access to education and opportunity. That’s why the story of African American Carson Huey-You is so inspiring. He made history at the tender age of 17 when he became the youngest student ever to receive a master’s degree from the Texas Christian University (TCU). Let’s take a look at his incredible story.
Homeschooled Carson left high school early at the tender age of 10. However, his parents reported that he was doing algebra by the age of 5 and scored a near-perfect 1,770 on his SAT exams. At 11, he began studying physics, as well as maths and Chinese at TCU. With hard work and dedication, he made history by earning a Bachelor of Science in Physics degree 3 years later at age 14.
Carson Huey-You made history again with his master’s degree from TCU at 17 years old. His younger brother Cannan is following in his footsteps at only 14 years old; majoring in electrical engineering at TCU! It’s an amazing feat for both brothers, who are continuing their education despite being homeschooled since they were young children. Amazingly, Huey-You is planning to go back to TCU for his Ph.D.
