Dr. Vincent Olatunji, the National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Bureau, has been selected to join the Forbes Technology Council for 2023. The Forbes Technology Council is a highly exclusive community of top-level executives and technology leaders. Citing Olatunji’s impressive track record in data protection compliance, the founder of Forbes Councils, Scott Gerber, is thrilled to welcome him to the elite nucleus of CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives.
In response to the announcement, Dr. Olatunji expressed his delight, stating that it was a great honor to have been chosen to join the Council. As the Data Protection Ombudsman of Nigeria, Dr. Olatunji has become known for his expertise in shaping international standards in data protection and for developing policies and frameworks that align with global best practices.
In addition to his role as NDPB boss, Dr. Olatunji is a certified Public Private Partnership Specialist (IP3 Specialist) and a PECB Certified Data Protection Officer. He holds a doctorate degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Lagos and has over 30 years of experience in the public sector. During his time at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), he rose to the rank of Director in 2014 and served as Acting Director General in 2016.
