Clinton Lewis‘ story is a true testament to the power of hard work and determination. The man went from being a 16-year-old cook at KFC to owning not one, not two, but three of the fast-food chain’s franchise locations. Talk about a come-up!
Raised by a single mother in Spanish Harlem, NY, Lewis knew from a young age that he had to work hard to achieve his dreams. His grandfather and grandmother had brought his family to the US from Belize, and Lewis did not want their sacrifices to go to waste. So, he got a job at KFC and quickly worked his way up the ranks. Within a year, he was promoted to shift manager, a position he held while continuing to learn more about the business and how to make it successful.
Eventually, Lewis decided that he wanted to own his own KFC franchise, and he set his sights on that goal. He worked as a general manager for KFC from 1999 to 2003, during which time he honed his business skills. Then, he became an area manager for KFC and expanded the operational restaurants across New York from 12 to 20. In 2011, he became director of operations for KEDIS Enterprises, a multi-brand franchise organization that has maintained an annual revenue of over $50 million.
Through all of this hard work and dedication, Lewis’ dream finally became a reality in 2023 when he became the proud owner of three KFC stores in Baltimore, MD. It wasn’t an easy journey, of course, but Lewis was determined to make it happen. And with the support of KFC and his network, he was able to overcome the challenges and achieve his goals.
