It seems like former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson has quite the love affair with McDonald’s. Not only did he reveal that he frequented the fast-food chain as a child because it was all he could afford, but he also owns not one, not two, but THREE franchises in Cincinnati, Indiana, and Miami. Talk about a commitment to the Golden Arches.
But wait, there’s more! Johnson even credits McDonald’s for his success in sports, claiming that when he ate their burgers and fries as a child, he never got hurt and dominated everything he did, even in kindergarten. Hmm, we may have to fact-check that one.
Although Johnson’s loyalty to McDonald’s may seem a bit extreme, it’s not surprising considering his history with frugality. He famously lived at the Paul Brown stadium during his time with the Cincinnati Bengals and didn’t move out of his grandmother’s house until his fourth year in the NFL.
So, what do we make of this? Is Johnson just a die-hard McDonald’s fan, or is there something deeper at play? Perhaps he sees his success and financial stability as a product of his loyalty and commitment, both to the fast-food chain and to his own financial wellbeing. Either way, it seems like there’s more to this story than just burgers and fries. As Johnson himself said to his podcast co-host Brandon Marshall “You think this lifestyle provided itself?”
