    “Ayinla” is a new Nollywood classic, directed by veteran filmmaker, Tunde Kelani and produced by Osiberu’s Greoh Studios which is set to debut in the cinemas on June 18, 2021. A culture-rich movie, from the costumes to the music are a masterpiece and a movie worth seeing. There is nothing like a culture-rich movie.

    It is unclear if this is an autobiographical movie but was inspired by the life of the Nigerian iconic musician Ayinla Omowura as confirmed by Omowuraon Osiberu, who wrote on Instagram, “Greoh Studios is very proud to partner with legendary filmmaker, Tunde Kelani to bring you this masterpiece inspired by the life and times of Ayinla, Omowura.”

    Ayinla Omowura was an iconic Nigerian musician who rose to fame as an Apala musician. The movie about his life, Ayinla: The Lost Legend, is filled with suspense and highlights his rise to fame, his identity, the depth of his craft and music, but also his tragic death following a stabbing from his manager, Bayewu, during a fight at the bar on the 6th of May 1980.

    Ayinla’s life was a tragedy in many ways, but it was also a story of immense talent, passion, and hard work. His music was deeply rooted in the traditions of his people and he had a profound understanding of the power of music to heal and connect people. Ayinla’s tragic death is a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of living each day to the fullest. Ayinla’s legacy continues to inspire musicians all over the world and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
