Ada Ameh is a Nollywood veteran, legend, comedian, producer and television personality. The African Giant is one of the Nigeria and Africa movie pioniers and well known for her comic roles. Ada Ameh became famous after her 90’s movie tittled “Domitilla” and “Oloture”. In particular, her movie “Domitilla” was one in a million. A classic 90’s movie, an action thriller. Ada Ameh’s character “Domitilla” was loved by all for her comic relief and badassery. Ada Ameh is definitely a Nollywood pionier and icon.

Domitilla was a story about a group of young girls who just wanted to survive in the harsh economical environment they found themselves. The story was a mixture of greed, survival as well as bad influence. The girls were forced to do things they never thought they would have to do, such as stealing and prostituting themselves, just to make ends meet. However, not all of the girls were willing to go along with this lifestyle. Domitilla, the main character, was determined to find a way out for herself and her friends. Despite the odds being against them, Domitilla never gave up hope but unfortunately since they made bad choices and got involved with immoral ways of life, the consequences was not one to forget in a hurry.
Domitilla is an inspiring story about perseverance and hope in the face of difficult circumstances. The movie featured other Nollywood legends such as Sandra Achums, late Enebeli Elebuwa, Kate Henshaw,-Nuttal, Maureen Ihua, Sonny McDon, Charles Okafor among others.
Although Ada Ameh who brings a breathe of fresh air into her movies dropped out of secondary school after having a baby quite early at age 14, she is a determined lady. She eventually sat for her GCE and also went further to get a diploma in Cosmetology. After 23 years of featuring in “Domitilla” she has also featured in several outstanding movies such as recent movies “Dear Mummy B”, “Ghana Must Go” including on air TV series such as “The Johsons”.
