Boy Spyce, the Mavin Records signee who made his debut EP titled “Boy Spyce” last year, has revealed in an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos that he saw himself in Mavin records when he was in Junior Secondary School 1. This is a testament to his belief in his music and his unwavering confidence in his abilities as an artist.

The Nigerian musician, who is signed to one of the biggest record labels in the country, also spoke about his desire to collaborate with American singer Billie Eilish and win a Grammy award. He revealed that Billie Eilish had always been his celebrity crush and that he would like to be on a song with her and The Weeknd.

“I love Billie. If I will ever get married, then I want to marry Billie Eilish. She has always been my celebrity crush. I love her. She is so pretty,” said Boy Spyce.

He also added that he believed in himself and that anything can happen. He stated that he had envisaged winning a Grammy award even before he got signed to Mavin records. “When it comes to my music I don’t doubt myself for once. There is nothing that can make me doubt myself. I believe that I’m gonna win a Grammy,” he said.

Boy Spyce’s debut EP is a genre-hopping affair that sees him juggling light guitars, afro-fusion beat work, and R&B elements. The EP has been well-received by fans and critics alike, with “Wayo” being a clear highlight of the project. The seductive, dance floor-ready style of the song is reminiscent of his label mate, Rema.
