    From his humble beginnings as an Assistant Professor of History in 1999 to his current position as Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Community at The University of Arkansas, a hotbed of academic excellence.

    Charles Robinson has been at the top of his game for over two decades. His focus on topics such as southern history, race relations, African American studies, sexuality in history and civil rights has earned him his current status.

    Not only is he an accomplished scholar with two acclaimed books under his belt, but he is also a celebrated teacher. As Vice Chancellor, he leads initiatives aimed at creating a more equitable campus environment where everyone can thrive regardless of their background or identity.

    As a scholar, Professor Robinson is renowned for his expertise and has written two books on these topics—Forsaking All Others: A Story of Interracial Love, Betrayal, and Revenge in the 1880s South and Dangerous Liaisons: Sex and Love in the Segregated South—and both have been incredibly well-received.

    In addition to his scholarly work, he has also made a name for himself as an educator by earning prestigious awards such as the Fulbright Master Teacher Award (2003) and the Alumni Association Distinguished Achievement in Teaching Award (2004).

    In recent years, he has continued to show his commitment to teaching by offering special topics courses on race in American society—for free! These courses are designed to empower students from all backgrounds to understand how race affects their lives on a daily basis.
