THE ELECTORAL LAW- The national assembly vehemently advocated for the approval of the electoral bill. They put forth major efforts and attention to ensure this matter was addressed. Consequentially, the Executive had no other reasonable option but to sign the bill into law. This legislation would ultimately solidify the electoral process. However, before signing the bill, the northern leadership have concluded the plan that both APC (All Progressives Congress) and PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) present northern candidates in the Presidential electoral race.

Even so, this landmark decision ratifies an invitation to embrace a new era, one packed with promise and opportunity not just for northerners but voters right across Nigeria. After extensive deliberation, and the  promotion of representation by northerners in both main political parties in the forth coming presidential elections, what they hadn’t foreseen was that Peter Obi would take matters into his own hands and defect to the Labour Party. His actions raised doubts about the efficacy of their unionised voting plan.

THE GAME CHANGER- The northern leaders were swift to act as they identified the bold move made by Peter Obi and the chain of events leading to the birth of the OBIDIENT Movement. They needed to break the movement by introducing a different strategy; they decided that they needed a powerful southerner that has the means to wrestle votes from Obi and destabilize the OBIdient movement. At this point, Alhaji Tinubu came up as first choice due to his widely known political prowess; although he had been informed just days prior that this position would not be granted unto him, which made him to declare it was his turn and having been instrumental to Buhari’s presidential triumph.

THE WIKE EFFECT- The Norths had hopefully crafted a plan to upend Peter Obi’s chances in the race, as well as make room for northerner Atiku to win. Making way for this plan’s fruition was the emergence of Tinubu, and all seemed within grasp  until G5 arrived and sent the Norths’ intentions reeling. What they neglected to factor in was the staunch agreement of certain southern PDP governors not to abandon their previous agreement that presidency would be moved to the South after President Buhari’s term ended. With such unwillingness evident, these weighty consequences knocked the wind out of their plans and derailed any hope for success in their agenda.

THE DIVINE FACTOR- It is clear from recent demonstrations and unrest across Nigeria that the youths have grown discontented with a lack of change – feeling completely unheard and ignored. As a result, they have chosen to take matters into their own hands in order to foster the recognition, respect and reform for which they strive. It has become obvious that no level of reordering, planning or strategizing can suppress this impending influx of youth-led revolution taking place before our eyes. Instead, an unprecedented uprising is commencing throughout the country in the form of ballots.
