AltSchool Africa is a new type of school and a network of micro-schools that personalizes learning for each student. The AltSchool Africa model has been designed to be easily replicated and scaled. The inability of the local education system to provide competent engineering talent has led to a gap in the market for entry-level talent. AltSchool plans to fill this gap by offering a 1 year program which includes a three-month internship so that students can obtain the skills they need to get entry-level jobs in the engineering field.

The program provides enrollments from over 20 countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, and Botswana. Students do not have to pay for the tuition until they get a job except for an application fee of ₦10,000 ($2). The school provides a solution as an online school with a curriculum to improve/upskill non-technical people with technical and soft skills. AltSchool’s mission is to provide an affordable, quality education to everyone, regardless of their background or location. The school offers a variety of courses, including computer science, web development, and data science. AltSchool also provides mentorship and career services to its students.
