Iconic singer and self-made billionaire who recently changed his name from Kanye West to Ye continue to prove he is a force to be reckoned with within the music industry.

He had his latest album “Donda debut at No. 1 in Biggest Week for Any Album in 2021 Billboard reports. The album is a tribute to his mom, who died from complications related to plastic surgery.

With Donda, Kanye West has once again tied Eminem for the record of most No. 1 debuts in a row on the albums chart, too. Eminem broke the tie in early 2020 with Music to Be Murdered By. Both artists have only missed No. 1 once—with their respective debut albums.

The African Giant, reputedly noted for keeping his fans in suspense, has been making headlines during that time for his failed presidential bid more than ever

The headlines around the rapper Kanye “Donda” album before its release is overwhelming. Initially, the album was intended for release in the summer but then he postponed it indefinitely. News later emerged of an album cover and an accompanying film but no information emerged since then.

However, the iconic singer Successful Kanye eventually decided to let his fans in on it. He did an album listening in a stadium filled to capacity at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

After hosting his second listening event for the “Donda” at the same stadium, the rapper reportedly pulled the crowd generating $7 million in revenue from his in-person merchandise, according to Billboard.

This makes Donda the highest-grossing in U.S. event tours since 1990 when it began tracking touring data. The previous record has been held by Taylor Swift after grossing a little under $7 million from her Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.

West has become one of only seven artists in chart history to release 10 chart-topping albums (alongside the Beatles, JAY-Z, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Eminem, and Elvis Presley). Donda also gave him the largest streaming week for an album in 2021, surpassing J. Cole’s The Off-Season. Halsey’s new album debuted at No. 2.

West is scheduled to do a third album listening in Chicago. Report has it that he is constructing a replica of his childhood home inside a Chicago stadium for the event. Even before the album is released, he is making millions through his live events. The album also generated a tweet of 6 million-plus before it was officially launched.

Revolt TV reports massive performance on Apple’s Music global live stream record. A record of 3.3 million viewers tapped in to watch Yeezy play the album and vibe out to his own tunes during the first album listening. “The previous record was last year’s Verzuz matchup between Gucci Mane and Jeezy, which drew 1.8 million viewers,” according to Revolt.

Featured in the album are numerous artists including Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Playboi Carti, Baby Keem, Roddy Ricch, and Jay Electronica, among others. Also, Kanye’s last album, 2019’s Jesus Is King, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The iconic rapper Kanye West and 22 times Grammy winner tying Jay-Z for the most Grammy awards for a hip-hop artist, became a certified billionaire in 2020 by Forbes. He has incredible business ideas which adds him to the list as one of the most successful celebrities in the world.

Indeed, Kanye has shown that talent alone is not enough but how you strategize and rebrand yourself is the ultimate way to success in the competitive music industry.
