    Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu Wins best player in Belgium

    The Nigerian Striker, Paul Onuachu was awarded best player this season in the Jupiler Pro League with KRC Genk. He has also emerged as the highest goal scorer and winner of the Golden Boot award. He received his award on Monday evening in Brussels, Belgium.
    Paul Onuachu had a breakout season in the Jupiler Pro League, scoring 33 goals with five assists to help lead KRC Genk to a second-place finish. He was rewarded for his efforts with the league’s best player award. Onuachu is the first Nigerian player to win the award, and he joins an elite group of African players to have won it. He will look to build on his success next season and help lead Genk to a championship.
    He scored 74 goals while in Denmark at FC Midtjylland before he moved to Genk. Paul Onuachu has helped Genk win the Belgian Cup following a 2-1 win against Standard Liege where he provided the assist for his side’s second goal.
    He has also been nominated for the Ebony Shoe, winning the Ebony Shoe award will make him the first Nigerian to win the Ebony Shoe since Celestine Babayaro’s success in 1996.
