    Lewis Hamilton currently holds the record for most Formula One wins after taking first place at the recent Portugal Grand Prix.

    No one in the history of Formula 1 has taken more wins than Lewis Hamilton with 92 wins. He is considered one of the fastest qualifiers in the history of the sport.

    35 years old Hamilton began his car racing career in the 2001 British Formula Renault Winter Series, he has been credited with furthering Formula One’s global following by appealing to a broader audience outside the sport due to his racing skills.

    Hamilton, the first and only black F1 world champion was born on 7 January 1985 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England. His father, Anthony, is Black British, while his mother, Carmen, is a White British who separated when Lewis’s was only 2 years old. He started to live with his father starting from age 12.

    Hamilton’s father, bought him a radio-controlled car when he was five which gave him his first taste of racing competition before finishing second in the national BRCA championship the following year.

    The African Giant is regarded as one of the most complete drivers on the grid, the all-time record holder for most pole positions, and has received praise for his ability to produce fast laps at crucial moments.

    Hamilton is often considered the best driver of his generation as rated by Time Magazine (2016) and The Telegraph (2015) and considered as one of the greatest British sportsmen ever.

    Hamilton is the most successful British driver in the sport, having more race victories than any other British driver in the history of Formula One and holding a record six British Grand Prix victories.

    According to report, Hamilton has been targeted by racist abuse throughout his career and has been outspoken in his criticism of racial politics in Formula One as well as advocating for greater diversity in the sport. His treatment by British newspapers has also been criticised for carrying racial bias.
