Jidenna and Tiwa Savage are on a mission to lighten up the Africa continent. Jidenna Theodore Mobisson an African American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer who spent part of his tender age in Nigeria.
He was born on May 4, 1985 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Tama Mobisson, a white accountant, and his father Oliver Mobisson, a Nigerian Igbo academic. He ispassionate about unity among Africans globally.
The Africans in the motherland and Africans in the diaspora are building a new, positive and powerful relationship. Particularly, over the years, social media has created that atmosphere for Africans to learn that although they maybe in seperate continents but they share one ancestor, heritage, culture and abilities.
Jidenna recently stated: “The ultimate goal is unity between all African peoples across the continent and the diaspora. It’s apparent, we got ALOT of work to do. Leggo. Oya na. The time is now to eliminate the colonial mentality from all of our minds from Capetown to Cairo”.
The famous Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage responded ” A whole lot of work, but the work has started. It all starts with loving one another”.
Jidenna also promotes African culture through music and his fashion style. His latest album “85 to Africa” a second studio album and was released on August 23, 2019 which follows the release of his debut album The Chief, and the EP, Boomerang.
Following the recent xenophobia attacks in South Africa, it is a very frustrating moment between Africans. However, Jidenna and some celebrities have chosen to promote Africa love and unity through their social media accounts.
